Sun Java Studio Creator Tool Launched

Sun Microsystems, Inc. (www.sun.com), the creator of Java technology, announced the availability of the latest version of its breakthrough visual development environment, Sun Java Studio Creator. Available as a free upgrade, the new version now supports Mac OS X and the Solaris Operating System.

This offering gives x86 and Mac developers access to the greater ease of use and performance features from Java Studio Creator and the Java platform. Mac developers looking for expert advice and information on Java-related topics, including Java Studio Creator http://community.java.net/mac. In addition, this marks the first multilanguage release of the product, with support for Japanese and simplified Chinese.

Java Studio Creator is a highly productive development environment focused on easy assembly of business applications from components using a simple drag-and-drop visual interface.

With drag-and-drop layout of user interfaces and component infrastructures, Java Studio Creator ensures fast development from prototype to finished application, with consistent look, feel and behavior of applications. Based on JavaServer Faces technology, Java Studio Creator simplifies Java coding, without requiring developers to manage details of transactions, persistence and other complexities.

The product's round-trip development model streamlines the steps to develop, deploy and debug, making iterative development easier and more productive. Like all of the Sun Java Studio tools, Java Studio Creator is based on the NetBeans (www.netbeans.org) open source platform.

For US$99, subscribers receive a one-year subscription to Sun Developer Network Standard plus a perpetual license to Java Studio Creator, with free updates during the life of their subscription.
