C. P. Morgan Company, Inc. Picks Again CSBC Communications for Online Services

00:00:00 - 18 October 2004

SBC Communications Inc. (www.sbc.com) today announced a new contract with Indianapolis-based C.P. Morgan Company Inc., a residential land development and homebuilding company serving Indianapolis and the surrounding communities.

"C.P. Morgan's (www.cpmorgan.com) mission is to offer homebuyers more square feet for less money with more choices and less hassle," said Tim Conrad, senior IT manager, C.P. Morgan.  "With the help of SBC companies, one aspect of achieving this is by making the application process easier for our customers while decreasing our sales time and increasing the productivity of our employees."

Over the last 21 years, C.P. Morgan has built nearly 14,000 homes in more than 75 neighborhoods, and has received national recognition for quality community development.

The three-year contract calls for SBC companies to implement SBC PremierSERVSM Network-based Virtual Private Network (NVPN) and SBC PremierSERV Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) to support C.P. Morgan's online applications.

With the company's recent expansion in Charlotte, North Carolina, these services will help the homebuilder shorten the sales cycle by making contracts and credit approvals available to its sales force online and will help increase productivity.

"We're very happy to be part of C.P. Morgan's plans," said Cathy Coughlin, president, Business Communications Services, SBC Midwest.  "We are committed to providing our customers of all sizes the solutions that best meet their needs - especially during times of expansion."

SBC Communications Inc. is a Fortune 50 company whose subsidiaries, operating under the SBC brand, provide a full range of voice, data, networking, e-business, directory publishing and advertising, and related services to businesses, consumers and other telecommunications providers. SBC holds a 60 percent ownership interest in Cingular Wireless, which serves 25 million wireless customers.
