00:00:00 - 18 October 2004

On Gartner's Symposium/ITxpo 2004, Micro Focus International Ltd. (www.microfocus.com) announced that it is partnering with Information Analysis Incorporated (www.infoa.com) to reduce costs and risk associated with migration of legacy mainframe assets to contemporary platforms.

"We are pleased to be partnering with industry to provide a portable, PC based training solution to soldiers," said MAJ Mark Morano, APM LOGFED, PEO STRI. "We are eager to evaluate the results of this exercise. Our objectives are deployment agility and cost savings in order to best serve the interests of our uniformed personnel."

IAI and Micro Focus are jointly working successfully on implementing a mainframe migration to Windows with the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) in Orlando, Fla.
This strategic alliance allows IAI to implement the latest technology offering from Micro Focus to "Lift and Shift" application workload from the mainframe environment to more open and extensible platforms.

Under the agreement, IAI will provide service and mentoring at customer sites allowing for rapid migration and deployment of legacy applications on their chosen platform.

"Once again we have teamed with Micro Focus to create a joint solution for our customers that is cost effective and innovative," said Charlie Bunce, senior vice president, IAI. "Our enhanced partnership will bring great benefits to those organizations seeking to migrate applications off the mainframe through the Micro Focus "Lift and Shift" approach."

"We are delighted to be partnering with leading integrators like IAI," said Ian Archbell, vice president of product management at Micro Focus. "With their expertise in government projects and a proven methodology, customers gain a win-win with our partnership and our joint membership in the MMA."
