Zeus Tecnology Names Cisco Internet Veteran Paul Di Leo as CEO

The appointment of Di Leo, who joins from Cisco, completes the company's new management team which aims take Zeus to the next stage of its growth cycle. As well as Di Leo, Zeus has recently appointed Paul Brennan as company executive chairman and Steve Palmer as vice president of marketing.

Di Leo will lead Zeus's refocusing on application infrastructure management through its new ZXTM product. The launch of ZXTM has created a new category in web traffic management, centred on meeting the needs of applications as well as the network. It brings together a range of functionality that competing vendors can only match with multiple point solutions. It is part of Zeus's highly scalable and robust line of software products that also include the multi-award winning Zeus Web Server, Zeus Load Balancer and Zeus

For the past seven years, Paul Di Leo has held a number of director level positions with Cisco. Most recently Di Leo was worldwide operations director for Mobility Technology and Solutions, responsible for supporting Cisco's mobile operator customers. Di Leo also lead marketing for the enterprise line of business in EMEA and was responsible for managing emerging technologies. From 1994 to 1997, he was director of marketing, Global Voice Services at SITA/Equant. Prior to this, Di Leo worked at Mercury Communications, Omega Dynamics and ABB. He holds an MBA from the Open University.

Zeus chairman Paul Brennan brings 19 years of executive-level experience in the IT sector to Zeus. Brennan is also executive chairman of two additional companies in Europe and the US, Apptix and Xtractor. Previously he was CEO of Metamerge AS, where he managed the company through its successful acquisition by IBM Corporation. Prior to this, he was vice president and general manager of Actional Corporation and NetFRAME Systems Inc, where he
established the European operations for the US parent companies. Brennan started his career with 10 years at IBM Corporation in Europe and Australia after graduating with a degree in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Sydney.

Steve Palmer completes the new Zeus management team as the new vice president of Marketing. He has over 20 years experience in the IT industry, most recently spending six years at Cisco in a range of EMEA product manager and product marketing roles. His experience included managing the introduction of Cisco into the LAN switching market in Europe. Additionally he led the European product marketing team for SMB products to sales of $2bn, as well as managing a new customer segment, mid sized companies, creating a new sales and marketing team with a $1bn target. Palmer has also
worked at Nabisco and 3Com. He has an honours degree in  Biochemistry from Leeds University.
