00:00:00 - 23 July 2004

Hosted Solutions, formerly Springboard Managed Hosting, the Carolina's leading data center and managed hosting company, has acquired the 14,000 square-foot North Raleigh data center and client base of competitor Redundant Networks, and plans to add at least 10 new IT jobs in the coming months as a result.

"While most of our competitors took a build it and they will come approach, we have taken a buy it as growth dictates approach," President Chris Hanks says. "We now profitably operate three of the most advanced data centers in the Carolinas, and we believe in proven results."

Headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, Hosted Solutions cites strong market demand as the catalyst behind the purchase of the state-of-the-art data center with12,000 square-feet of custom cages and rack space and an additional 2,000 square-feet of office space. Hosted Solutions also owns and operates an 11,000 square-foot facility in Cary, and a 15,000 square-foot facility in Charlotte, which is a sister facility to the newly acquired North Raleigh location.

"This acquisition clearly gives us the largest footprint in the Carolinas, and meets all of our criteria for what we feel is needed to be a successful operator in our space. We acquired a facility rich in technology assets at an attractive entry price that we feel we can really leverage," Chief Executive Officer Rich Lee says.

"This expansion in the Raleigh market is a testament to our reliability, our unparalleled technical support, and our financial stability" Hanks says. "The Raleigh facility positions Hosted Solutions as the leading provider of managed and dedicated hosting solutions in the Carolinas."
