DNS Made Easy Continues Summer Internship For Aspiring Developers

The program invites college students to join the team for the summer months, and get hands-on experience. Interns are able to shadow developers, support staff, and marketing team members through their daily tasks and learn what it’s like to work for a DNS industry leader.

The five-year-old program has helped nearly a dozen students bridge the gap, by providing them with skills to land jobs right out of college. “We believe it is crucial for students to be given the opportunity to apply the concepts they have learned in the classroom as early as possible,” says President of DNS Made Easy Steven Job.

Interns get an exclusive look at how to build and maintain the infrastructure that’s crucial to keeping our modern day Internet online. While the majority of interns are aspiring developers, DNS Made Easy has also brought on interns for both the marketing and support departments. Job also encourages students to “wear many hats” and learn not just one position, but get a taste of all the different roles that are required to build a business.

“We strive to introduce our interns to all aspects of managing enterprise DNS architecture. Whether it’s data center maintenance, to assisting customers with using our products,” says Job. Interns have been able to accompany network engineers to data centers and learn how to install and maintain servers. “We have even had some interns shadow our team while we mitigated aDDoS attack,” says Job. The DNS industry is very dynamic and demands a variety of skills that just can’t be taught in a classroom.

This summer will provide interns with a unique experience, as DNS Made Easy will be launching a new traffic management suite calledConstellix. Interns will be able to see first hand the growth of a new company from the ground up, and assist in supporting new clients in their transition over to the suite. “Our interns have helped us optimize the control panel and mobile app for the new generation of millennials who will be using our products,” says Job.
