Gigenet Partners with R1Soft to Offer Continuous Data Protection for All Clients

CHICAGO, February 5, 2009—Gigenet, a worldwide leader in virtual hosting, dedicated servers, colocation, and DDoS protection, announced today it has partnered with R1Soft, the developer of Continuous Data Protection ® (CDP), to offer a robust, full-scale data protection solution for its clients.

R1Soft’s next-generation data protection solution, which offers near-continuous disk-based data backup for Linux and Windows servers, will be deployed fully in Gigenet’s Arlington Heights, Ill. private datacenter facility. Dedicated server and colocation clients may add CDP as needed to their servers in the facility, paying only $.50 per protected gigabyte with no charge for additional CDP agents. Virtual hosting clients are fully protected with CDP automatically at no additional charge.

With today’s announcement, Gigenet has joined the distinguished R1Soft Hosting Partner Program (R1HPP). As a hosting partner, Gigenet gains access to a wide variety of sales and marketing resources from R1Soft. Gigenet also receives priority technical support and first-access to new software updates and patches. In addition, R1Soft will work directly with Gigenet to maximize revenue and most effectively leverage CDP technology to benefit end users.
