Swiss web host Genotec adds the CM4all WebsiteCreator Consumer Edition to its core product range

09:39:33 - 30 May 2008

To expand the reach of its product portfolio, Genotec has launched a customized version of the CM-AG online site building software aimed at Switzerland’s residential users.

Cologne, Germany; Boston, USA – May 30, 2008 -- Maintaining success requires the constant addition of up-to-date products and added value services to the portfolio. Genotec AG, based in Allschwil/Basel, demonstrates this by launching the online site builder CM4all WebsiteCreator Consumer Edition.

The Swiss host has successfully marketed the Business Edition of the CM4all WebsiteCreator since 2005. This has enabled Genotec’s business customers to create and maintain professional SME websites easily and intuitively. Now, Genotec becomes the first Swiss host to deploy both editions of the CM4all WebsiteCreator in tandem.

“Different target groups have different requirements and very distinct needs”, comments Cornel Schnietz, CTO of CM-AG. “To ensure we were never forced to make unnecessary compromises we developed two CM4all software Editions with special features for each target group. Naturally, both the Consumer and Business Edition are fully based on our CM4all Technology and can run simultaneously from the same servers using the same set of comprehensive APIs.”

Simon Jenny, CEO of Genotec appreciates this ease of deployment. “The Business Edition of the CM4all WebsiteCreator was simple to implement and had an impressive impact on our users. We then decided to launch a similar service which would support the expansion of this success to the residential market. Since there is no additional hardware necessary, it was just a question of having the required internal resources available and defining the right marketing approach to implement the CM4all WebsiteCreator Consumer Edition alongside”.

The new Consumer Edition focuses precisely on residential users and will allow Genotec’s customers to create dedicated consumer web sites intuitively and without complexity. Thanks to a variety of wizards, there is no special technical knowledge required. Customers can simply choose from a variety of topics to theme their web sites and each category has specific, professionally designed templates. The web sites include easy navigation and innovative Web 2.0 features such as the Community Media Album, Multi-Author Video Blog, Microsoft® Maps & Directions, Flash animations, guest books, feedback forms, online forums and voting tools. Photos, videos and music files are easily uploaded to the website and community-friendly contribution features allow family and friends to participate in the creation of dynamic private communities.

CM-AG adapted the user interface of the CM4all WebsiteCreator to Genotec's corporate design and installed the software with a German language interface in the Genotec data center.
