Loadbalancer.org Launch, the "Eco" Green Load Balancer

10:09:31 - 07 March 2008

Loadbalancer.org is going green, and apparently they dont mean anything connected to the up and coming St. Patricks Day celebrations.

The introduction of the load balancing Eco appliance has been driven by environmental concerns that will affect many more IT buying decisions. "By 2009, more than one third of IT organizations will have one or more environmental criteria in their top six buying criteria for IT-related goods," Reported Gartner recently.

The Loadbalancer.org Eco appliance is a cost effective way to scale your web site(s). Simply place one or two of the Ultra-reliable Solid State Loadbalancer.org Eco appliances (in fail-over mode if using two) between your firewall and the customer’s application servers. All requests are handled by the load balancer and dispatched to individual servers based on the scheduling algorithm that has been selected. Should any server fail a health check it is immediately taken out of the cluster so that the customers are not affected.

“Increasingly data centres and IT departments are being forced to control the Wattage, thermal output and physical size of equipment they purchase. The Loadbalancer.org Eco delivers high performance at less than 50 Watts at maximum power draw and allowing business to reduce their carbon foot print”. Said Malcolm Turnbull CEO of Loadbalancer.org

The challenge has been to keep the feature rich configurations available on the existing Loadbalancer.org range, while providing an Eco friendly (low Wattage) appliance. Most things branded ‘Eco or Organic’ usually tend to put some fat on around the price bracket to compensate, which makes the Loadbalancer.org Eco even more remarkable is the entry level RRP of $2,495.00

Loadbalancer.org prides themselves on their technical support and problem solving with real people. They have offices in the UK, US and APAC.

Loadbalancer.org, based in, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Loadbalancer.org has over six years industry hands on experience within the load balancing, database and application control areas; with a seasoned and dedicated management team the company has wide breadth of experience across many industry sectors.
