365 Main to Provide Virtual Tour of Arizona Data Center at 7x24 Exchange International Fall Conference

05:34:03 - 11 October 2007

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Data center developer and operator 365 Main has been selected for the second consecutive year to provide a virtual data center tour at the 7x24 Exchange International annual fall conference. Jean Paul Balajadia, 365 Main senior vice president and founding partner, will lead the virtual tour of the company’s Chandler, Ariz. facility at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, October 29.

This year’s conference, entitled End-to-End Reliability: Mission-Critical Systems, will take place October 28-31 in Grapevine, Texas. It is designed for anyone involved with around-the-clock infrastructures, including IT, datacenter, disaster recovery and network/telecommunications managers, supervisors and engineers. Vendors, consultants and those concerned with uninterrupted access to critical information are also expected to attend.

The event’s organizers hope to increase the reliability and availability of enterprise information infrastructure by presenting case studies, new ideas, techniques and tools. Open dialogue between attendees and presenters is encouraged throughout the conference.

365 Main’s 315,000-square-foot Chandler, Ariz. facility opened in 2006 and is expected to be fully leased by the end of this year. The 45-minute video tour will provide an overview of how the building was constructed and how the data center operates, as well as a detailed look at:

•            Challenges faced during construction
•           How 365 Main increased the power density to 150 watts per square foot, more than twice the original design
•           Electrical and mechanical systems
•           Contingency plans and emergency procedures
•           Quality controls including auditing and monitoring of security, cooling and power systems
•           Energy-efficient best practices

Last year’s conference featured a similar tour of 365’s Main’s flagship 227,000-square-foot data center in San Francisco. More than 500 people attended.

“The extensive tour 365 Main gave of its San Francisco facility was one of the highlights of our 2006 fall conference,” said Bob Cassiliano, chairman of the board for 7x24 Exchange International. “Many first-time and repeat attendees have told us how much they’re looking forward to getting a virtual look at a world-class data center, so we’re extremely pleased that 365 Main has agreed to once again open its doors for us.”

“Being selected two years in a row to showcase one of our data centers at such a prestigious event is a big honor of which we are very proud,” said Chris Dolan, president and CEO of 365 Main. “We’re more than happy to participate and hope this year’s attendees enjoy their virtual visit to our Chandler facility.”

365 Main began with a single data center in San Francisco in 2003 and now has facilities in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Northern Virginia and Oakland, with a project underway in Newark, Calif. In each data center the company leases real estate to dedicated hosting providers and large enterprises such as Sun Microsystems and Esurance. 365 Main now has more than one million square feet under management nationwide.
