WebHost Automation announces Helm as first carbon neutral control panel

08:53:01 - 10 July 2007

WebHost Automation (webhostautomation.com) - producers of leading Windows webhosting control panel Helm – have been certified Carbon Neutral by The World Land Trust (WLT), by offsetting with the WLT run Carbon Balanced (http://www.carbonbalanced.org/) program.

WHA are working with this company to offset their carbon emissions in an effort to become carbon neutral, and thereby an ecologically sound company. With WebHost Automation becoming a carbon neutral company, Helm will be the world’s only truly ecologically sound control panel.

The Carbon Balanced program works to remove carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere by engaging in reforestation projects. The added benefits of these reforestation programs include extending habitats to ensure the survival of critically endangered species, as well as for the benefit and future of mankind in general.

At the business end, environmentally sound practices begin with recognition of Corporate Social Responsibility, whereby organisations take an active role in creating a sustainable and healthy future for humans and the planet. It also demands reduction of energy use as energy consumption can usually be related to carbon emissions. By reducing carbon emissions, a company can ultimately reduce the amount of energy it uses, which in turn equals direct, measurable savings in expenditure.

Webhosts that are concerned about their level of social responsibility and reducing their energy use need to ensure their operations are also carbon neutral. They should therefore be using Helm, because it is the only truly carbon neutral control panel on the market.

“The World Land Trust commends the decision that Web Host Automation has taken to become environmentally responsible by offsetting the carbon dioxide emissions associated with its operation for an entire year,” said CEO of the World Land Trust John A. Burton.

”By choosing to offset with Carbon Balanced, Web Host Automation has generously contributed to Restoration Ecology projects which are working to regenerate habitats in critically threatened areas such as Ecuador, Brazil, Paraguay, the Philippines and India.'

The World Land Trust (http://www.worldlandtrust.org/) is an international conservation charity organisation based in the UK. WLT is primarily concerned with protection of threatened habitats around the world, and provides carbon offsetting as part of that process.
