Global Netoptex CEO Derek Wise to Speak at Next Generation Data Center Conference

00:34:46 - 28 June 2007

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IDG World Expo, the leading producer of tradeshows and events around the globe, has announced that Derek Wise, president and CEO of Global Netoptex (http://www.gni.com), will be speaking at the inaugural Next Generation Data Center™ Conference & Expo (NGDC™).

The event, taking place August 6-9, 2007 at the Moscone Center, will focus on new technologies and their impact on the data center, covering mission-critical applications and the technology supporting those applications including power and cooling issues. Wises session Why Outsource? What to Know and Consider will be held Thursday, August 9 from 11:30 to 12:30 PM.

This session will discuss some of the advantages of outsourcing generally, and more specifically, of using Master Outsourcers. Outsourcing often means access to economies of scale, expertise and vendor leverage not available to the traditional business in the SMB, Digital Media, Games, and SAAS spaces. But, outsourcing to 25 highly qualified individual companies in segmented spaces causes too much burden on internal management teams, quality control is nearly impossible, and focus is taken away for the core business. Using Master Outsourcers adds to the value chain and provides the best TCO for Servers, Bandwidth, Support, Colocation, Power, and just about any product you'd typically use in a datacenter.

Wise is a decorated Marine and his current position is the culmination of over ten years of technical networking, communications and security experience. In April 2002, Wise started Global Netoptex (GNi). He saw the need for fast, reliable and, above all, affordable managed IT and networking services in the telecommunications market.

Any company not already focused on energy management and conservation will need to start implementing new procedures in 2008, said Melinda Kendall, VP and general manager, Next Generation Data Center. NGDCs Advanced Facilities Management and Planning sessions will provide key guidance on maximizing performance while minimizing power.

NGDC focuses on new technologies and their impact on the data center, covering mission-critical applications and the technology supporting those applications including storage, servers, networking and communications. Targeted to many types of data center professionals, ranging from IT architects, to system administrators, to application and information administrators, NGDC will help IT Pros identify the right products and services to add to their end-to-end solutions as they adapt to ever-increasing needs for flexibility, scalability and performance with reduced risk and complexity.
