Available since 2003, PeerFS is a replicating file system that delivers seamless, consistent access to data. Data on any PeerFS node is always visible and useable by local applications. In addition to adding support for 64-bit platforms, file system performance has been improved by 40 percent, achieving comparability with commonly used file systems that don’t provide the added benefit of real-time, continuous data replication. Always a feature of PeerFS, NFS interoperability has been enhanced to be both seamless and foolproof.
