Sun Launches Enterprise Development Tool for Sun Java System Suites

14:13:03 - 09 November 2005

Sun Microsystems (www.sun.com) announced the latest development tool designed to increase productivity and accelerate application design and delivery with a comprehensive set of features that will transparently integrate and support the latest versions of the Sun Java System Suites and Sun Java Enterprise System.

Announced at the JavaOne Tokyo developer conference, the Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8, fully supported on the Solaris 10 Operating, is designed to stimulate innovation and increase productivity among developers with a vast array of comprehensive features and supported technologies.

"Java Studio Enterprise 8 allows me to be more productive than any other IDE. Using the collaboration module, I am able to perform code reviews and collaborative development whether I am in the office or elsewhere.

The UML module allows me to model complex business systems and seamlessly generate or synchronize code, saving me hours of time it would have taken to re-factor code and then update the model," said David Freels, Digital Reasoning Systems.

"With the continued growth of the Java developer community, which is now over 4.5 million members, it is imperative that we continue to enhance our technologies to meet the growing needs of developers worldwide," said Jeff Jackson, VP of Java Enterprise Platforms and Developer Products, Sun Microsystems.

Eliminating pricing barriers, Sun is offering this development platform, along with Sun Java Studio Creator, available at no cost to all Sun Developer Network (SDN) registered developers worldwide.
