AIT Reaches out to both ends of the dedicated market

For serious Internet professionals who demand total control over their own machines, AIT (http://www.ait.com) has launched a line of dedicated servers, starting at $39 per month with no set up fees.  Paul Laflamme is an AIT customer who uses multiple servers operating dual offices in Savannah, GA and Washington, DC.  “I use one server as a test bed, another to store customer data,” says Laflamme.  “I particularly like having root access to the machines; there are times when that level of control is a must. The AIT network is robust, dependable and fast.”   

The move comes as a way to offer great value during the holiday season.  Briggs says a line of 64-BIT Xeon-powered dedicated machines that was released a couple of months ago addresses customers who want higher-end system.  “But not everyone wants that, and even people who have a more expensive machine may want a lower cost box for secondary use,” said Briggs. “We support both models, will do custom installs and no one beats our prices.”

The servers come in Linux or Windows, are powered by Xeon, Pentium or Celeron processors, and are packed with plenty of disk space, memory and data transfer.  Users also get multiple IP addresses, root access, security and monitoring services, management accessories and redundant OC-3 connectivity from AIT’s 93,000 square foot data center.  “Our experience has been that the dedicated hosting environment remains popular among developers and administrators who want to configure a machine to their liking and have the know-how to trouble-shoot most issues.”  AIT provides 24 x 7 support from its call center.
