HP Helps School Integrate Microsoft Technology

10:25:19 - 31 January 2005

HP (www.hp.com) offers education portals, data warehouse and reporting solutions and services based on the Learning Gateway Framework.

"HP's expertise and innovation in education are helping school districts like Tracy USD to integrate and transform the learning environment for students, teachers and administrators," said Cathy Martin, director of Education, Government, Health and Education - Americas, HP.

HP today announced that it has integrated Microsoft technology into Tracy Unified School District's portal solution in order to simplify access to information.

"School districts are increasingly tasked with streamlining access to multiple applications to help their educators save time and meet reporting requirements," said Anthony Salcito, general manager of Microsoft Education - U.S. Public Sector.

Through Microsoft® SharePoint Portal technology, the solution is designed to allow administrators, teachers and students access to data and assignments in multiple applications via one interface, anywhere there is an Internet connection.

Announced at the Florida Educational Technology Conference, the deployment of the newest release of Microsoft Class Server 4.0 makes HP one of the first Microsoft partners in the country to deploy this solution.

The Learning Gateway Framework is a rich collaborative tool for connecting information, people, processes and devices in one fully managed, secure, web-based environment.

"HP helped our school district to implement an integrated portal solution," said Kerry Johnson, chief information officer, Tracy Unified School District. "As a result, we are able to improve student achievement, provide additional tools to our teachers, and better manage access to standards-aligned content."
