Make Your Website Your Best Promotion

2015-02-05by Dave Thomas

Whether you are a long-time business owner or have just gotten into the business world recently, your website will go a long ways in determining how successful a run you have.

With that in mind, have you checked your website recently to see what it offers?

More importantly, have you had outsiders review and critique your site? If you’re doing the latter, you are certainly more likely to get unbiased feedback on what is working and what needs fixing.

There are myriad of issues your website can have – slow downloading times, spotty web content, hard to find contact information and much more. Remember, your website is one of your brand’s best marketing tools, so make it hum.

Design These Strengths

In order to have your website working most productively for your business, keep the following items in mind:

  • Organization – The most important aspect of any business website is keeping it detailed and clean. If the site is murky to move around on, has broken links and turns into essentially a maze for visitors, many of them likely will not return. Do periodic reviews of your site to make sure it is easy to visit and find pertinent information;

  • Promotions – Your website should be good at announcing any new brand promotions you have. Whether you are offering technology from providers such as iPhone app developers Blue Rocket to enhance the customer experience or you are making available blog posts and other content that is of interest to the consumer, make sure you promote it properly. Social media (see more below) is a great tool for doing just that, with simple to follow links back to your site. Your site should also encourage guest blogging from relevant industry experts, allowing you to cross-promote when all is said and done;

  • Socializing – Last but certainly not least, your website should be heavily engaged on social media. Whenever you are using sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest and even YouTube for that matter, put a link back to your site. More importantly, do not link just back to your homepage, but spread the love around. You should make sure that not only the links work, but that they are spread around to the products and/or services you offer, team management, pricing, content marketing, contact information and more. The goal is to get sizable amounts of hits to various pages when all is said and done.

Although you have a number of promotional tools at your company’s disposal, always note that your website is one of if not the best means available to tout your brand.
