Zeus Selected for Web Traffic Management Solutions

00:00:00 - 07 October 2004

Zeus Technology (www.zeus.com), the acknowledged leader in Internet infrastructure solutions, announced that the Institute of Financial Services (ifs) has deployed Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager (ZXTM) to manage web traffic for the estimated 50,000 users of both its student portal and public web site.

"To achieve its aim of being a school of finance recognised for the excellence and relevance of its courses and services the Institute of Financial Services needed a web infrastructure that delivered matching levels of performance," commented Steve Palmer, VP Marketing, Zeus Technology.

Alongside its public web site (www.ifslearning.com) ifs has developed a secure student and membership portal, providing access to study materials, student records and personal details. It needed to provide secure access to this resource as well as to converge its separate web architectures to ensure a single, more easily managed and monitored service.

"We needed a solution that combined security with high performance to ensure that our members and students always had fast access to the information they need," commented Dot Carrier [Director of IT], Institute of Financial Services.

ZXTM was deployed as a software solution in a resilient cluster for ifs. This provides the ability to upgrade server hardware as necessary, easily and cost-effectively.

Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager is the next generation in high-availability, application-centric traffic management and load balancing, providing unparalleled control, intelligence, security and resilience for all customer application traffic.
