IONIC Opens Web Services Center

IONIC announces the launch of its Interoperability Center of Excellence (ICE) (ice@ionicsoft.com) Program for institutions of higher education interested in research and training related to OpenGeospatial® spatial web services. Members of the IONIC ICE Program have acquired elements of the IONIC RedSpider product suite (e.g., RedSpider Web, RedSpider Studio, RedSpider Catalog) and are using them in their teaching curriculum, research programs or project contracts. Institutions that have become an IONIC ICE are important contributors to the emerging national and global network of OpenGeospatial web services.

The IONIC ICE Program is a growing global network of academic and research institutions including the University College of London (UK), Columbia University (USA), Technical University of Vienna (Austria), Technical University of Lulea (Sweden), University of West Hungary, Polytechnical University of Madrid (Spain), University of Muenster (Germany), Colorado State University (USA), the Joint European Commission (JRC) and the University of Arkansas (USA). Additional ICE agreements are currently being negotiated.

Any institution around the world is eligible to become an IONIC ICE partner. Depending on the use of the software (e.g., education and training, sponsored R&D, internal R&D, hosting for sponsored projects, etc) there are a range of ICE agreements that can be created to fit your needs.
