05:55:10 - 20 May 2008

iomart Group plc the datacentre operator and web hosting business, is pleased to announce it has secured a £1m plus contract over 3 years for a colocation managed services contract in its London datacentre, effective from 1 June. The contract has been placed on behalf of a leading global technology and IT Enterprise Company to service a global financial services organisation.

Angus MacSween, CEO iomart, commented "We are pleased to announce this significant contract to provide both colocation and managed services to a datacentre customer. This is in line with our strategy of providing complex, value-added services to our colocation customers, enabling us to maximise the return on our datacentre facilities. It further demonstrates the quality of our datacentres and the progress we are making with this business.

iomart entered the Data Centre Market in March 2007, with the purchase of 4 non operational data centres in London, Glasgow, Leicester and Nottingham. Following a refurbishment program, the company can now offer over 3,500m2 of high specification, secure and fully redundant data centre space.

iomart holds a unique position in the managed services and hosting market, it that it can genuinely offer the ‘one source’ or ‘end to end’ approach. By combining a decade’s experience in managing large scale mission critical hosting infrastructures with the operation of its own data centre network, it can guarantee its clients total accountability.

This announcement represents iomart’s second large contract win in the space of 3 months, with the company having recently announced a £6.75M 5 year contract with the UK’s leading telecom operator to provide managed data centre facilities.
