Local builder Wall Homes
provided the muscle to ABC Television's popular Extreme Makeover: Home
Edition program, but C I Host will be doing the heavy lifting when it comes
to handling the crush of visitors to Wall's website following the broadcast.
C I Host has donated "extreme" web-hosting services to Wall Homes,
the homebuilder for a recent episode filmed in Keller, TX.
Wall Homes anticipates 300,000 daily website visitors to extreme.wall.com following the
show's March 1st broadcast. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition--a show where
builders, designers and volunteers build new homes for worthy families--is seen
each week by more than by 15 million viewers.
To alleviate Wall's concerns, C I Host has provided two load-balanced servers
with a direct connection to the core network. "This solution was designed
for their specific needs," said Rocky Pourghoraishi, C I Host Senior
Account Executive. "We crafted the solution to ensure continuous
availability. It will handle the traffic demands the site could generate."
The Load Balancing solution enables the servers to handle approximately twice
the traffic. The increase will allow more visitors and will keep the site
online in the event of a hardware failure. The direct connection to C I Host's
Core Network will route the site's visitors more efficiently and eliminate
bandwidth bottlenecks.
Andrew Brimberry, Wall Homes' Director of Information Technology says,
"During our Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project, C I Host was
reliable and responsive to our needs. We didn't have to worry about the
ramifications that come along with a website being overwhelmed. This allowed us
to focus on our core business and a special community outreach program."
In addition to providing internet solutions, a group of C I Host employees
volunteered time and labor for the week long Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project
in Keller.
Said Pourghoraishi: "We are very excited to have this opportunity to
partner with Wall Homes and to join them in giving back to our community."

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which has won back-to-back Emmy Awards
as Best Reality Program (non-competitive), is entering its 6th season on ABC.
The program is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. Anthony
Dominici is the executive producer; and David Goldberg is the president of
Endemol USA.
