Symplified CTO to Decipher Identity and Access Management Issues for the Cloud at RSA Europe Conference

Darren Platt is co-founder and CTO of Symplified and a recognized expert on identity and access management. He co-authored the AuthXML specification, which was the precursor to the SAML identity federation standard. He has served as senior director of technology for Ping Identity where he managed the company’s conformance services and PingTrust SOA security product. Previously he was vice president of engineering at Securant|ClearTrust, a pioneer in Web Access Control and User Provisioning, which was acquired by RSA Security.

With the introduction of Cloud applications, organizations now face new challenges when trying to manage user access, identities, federation, provisioning and security. This shift is placing unanticipated pressures on traditional identity and access management architectures and the SAML federation model, which were designed for pre-Cloud environments. This session will discuss these issues and challenges, and present a new approach that weaves single sign-on (SSO), authorization and provisioning into a trust fabric that scales to the Cloud. Mr. Platt will explain how this model unifies security policy integration, enforcement, and auditing across resources regardless of whether they reside on the network or in the Cloud.
