NetBenefit launches new range of dedicated servers based on Intel's Nehalem architectureNetBenefit customers to get radically increased performance September 2, 2009; 04:52 AM
London, UK, 1 September 2009 – NetBenefit, one of the UK’s most experienced managed hosting providers, today announces the launch of its new range of dedicated servers based upon Intel’s revolutionary new Nehalem architecture.
The changes in the microarchitecture arguably mark the most significant development for Intel since multi processors were introduced in 1995. For NetBenefit’s customers it means radically increased performance over dedicated servers using the Intel 5400 series.
The launch enhances NetBenefit’s existing portfolio of managed hosting and virtualisation solutions with dedicated servers ranging from the R410 through to the R710 as well as the introduction of a server optimised for highly resilient database cluster solutions.
CTO, Gerry Lawrence, commented: “Whilst customers are reassured by the fact that all of our services run on branded Dell hardware, the speed with which our services can handle database or website requests is what really matters. CPU work loads have been proven to be 65% faster with the new Intel Nehalem microarchitecture.
“Thanks to the advantages Dell has introduced with the latest Xeon 5500 series, the servers not only provide our customers with significantly faster processing speeds but also go a long way to achieving the energy efficiency that all technology companies are striving to achieve -- increased power efficiency and smaller carbon footprints.”
NetBenefit’s range of new dedicated servers offer an impressive combination of speed, performance and optimisation:
The new range of servers is just one of the many new solutions that NetBenefit is bringing to market this year. “Our product management and delivery team has been working on a number of different initiatives that will see it strengthen our position in the UK market as a leading provider of highly available managed hosting solutions focused upon the customers’ business requirements,” says managing director Colin Bell.
