Rackmount Specialists Launches Breakthrough High-Efficiency Gemini Twin 1U Server

LAS VEGAS, June 16, 2009—Rackmount Specialists today unveiled its highly anticipated Gemini Twin 1U Server™, marking the latest generation in server technology and a significant breakthrough in high-density, high-efficiency server computing.

Gemini Twin 1U Servers, for the first-time ever in the industry, enable two fully independent servers to be mounted in 1U of rack space – instantly doubling data center density. Unlike other 2-in-1 server designs, each Gemini Twin 1U Server is fully discrete, and can be removed from the rack for service individually.

Power consumption and cooling requirements are also markedly reduced with Gemini Twin 1U servers. Each system includes the efficient and high-powered Intel® Atom™ 330 processor, 1.6GHz Dual Core CPU with 533MHz FSB and 512KB L2 Cache per Core (1M total). The default hardware configuration also supports up to 2GB DDR2 533/667 RAM.

Pricing for base configurations with the Intel® Atom™ processor will start as low as $450 per unit. Rackmount Specialists builds each server to order at their assembly plant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Manufacturing and assembly of most chassis components is also being completed in America.
