HOUSTON, April 22, 2009 – The Planet, the global leader in IT hosting, today announced that it will sponsor a seminar and networking event that discusses how businesses can stretch their IT budgets by leveraging a combination of hosting technologies. Titled “The Movement Toward Zero CapEx IT,” the event will be held at Hill Country restaurant in New York City today, April 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. Featured speakers include Alex Hyman, president of in8 Mobile; and Rob Walters and Carl Meadows of The Planet.

“In today’s difficult economic environment, companies are exploring opportunities to reduce their IT infrastructure costs,” said Steve Kahan, vice president of marketing and product management at The Planet. “New York is a hotbed of technology development, and we have a number of customers located in the area. We’ll offer an overview on hosting opportunities and also speak with existing customers who plan to join us.”

The event is the second in The Planet’s “Zero CapEx IT” seminar series. The next event will be held June 11 in Chicago.
