UNC Charlotte Selects Hosted Solutions

 Hosted Solutions, the East Coast’s premier data center and managed services provider, is pleased to announce today that it has added the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to its roster of clients.

Hosted Solutions operates two data centers in Charlotte. The company, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, recently announced that they had been acquired by a Boston-based private equity firm, ABRY Partners, for $140 million dollars. 

Specifically, Hosted Solutions will provide services for The College of Health and Human Services’ web-based portal, part of a project for the State Center for Health Statistics.  Hosted Solutions will provide bandwidth, managed firewall, collocation, SPLA licensing, OS management, managed backup services at its SAS 70 Type II certified  Data Center facility.

The web portal is a part of the North Carolina Community Health Assessment Initiative, which helps health professionals learn about the strengths and health care needs of people in their community.  The data collected in the portal will be used to assess the health of individual communities, create effective public programs and policies and evaluate the impact of these initiatives.
