Solix Technologies Extend Commitment to Oracle with New Data Management Solutions

SUNNYVALE, Calif., and Oracle OpenWorld, San Francisco, Calif. -- Solix Technologies, the leading provider of Enterprise Data Management Solutions used by large enterprise customers to manage business critical data, today announced a new partner product and major enhancements to its Solix Enterprise Data Management Suite (Solix EDMS) for Oracle Applications and databases. The new solutions include the IT industry’s first plug-and-play compliant database cloning and archiving appliance; support for Oracle 11g Total Recall; and full support for Oracle E-Business Suite, R12.

Solix introduces gloPlug Appliance
Solix and gloPlug, a Network Appliance partner that integrates industry leading hardware and software solutions providing data management, today introduced the gloPlug Appliance - the industry’s first plug-and-play compliant database solution for secure cloning and archiving data from Oracle E-Business Suite. The gloPlug Appliance is embedded with modules from the Solix EDMS for Oracle E-Business Suite with NetApp ReplicatorX™ and FlexClone ™ software and NetApp Storage to deliver data management-in-a-box.

The cloning of databases for patch, development and testing purposes is a laborious and storage intensive task for database administrators that potentially expose confidential data to unauthorized sources. By incorporating Solix EDMS with NetApp FlexClone and NetApp storage on the pre-configured gloPlug Appliance, enterprise customers can quickly and easily clone production data, mask critical business, and reduce storage footprint before releasing it to test and development.

Support for Oracle 11g Total Recall
Solix EDMS supports the Oracle Database 11g, including Oracle’s Total Recall and Advanced Partitioning. The Solix EDMS solutions suite addresses both compliance and information lifecycle management (ILM) through four components: Solix Secure Test and Development, Solix Data Auditor, Solix Enterprise Archiving, and Solix Application Sunsetting and Migration. 

Solix EDMS integrates with Oracle 11g Total Recall to help customers effectively manage historical data capture and long term retention in an application transparent manner. Solix EDMS unique metadata-driven approach to managing enterprise data makes it easy for users to map business classification policies to Oracle’s Total Recall and Flashback capability on the back end.

In addition, Solix EDMS integrates completely with Oracle Advanced Partitioning option. Database partitioning enables tables to be split into smaller, more manageable components and is a key requirement for any large database with high performance and high availability requirements.

Support for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12
Oracle E-Business Suite, R12 helps corporations manage their businesses better, by meeting compliance and reporting requirements, and recording transactions accurately and efficiently. Oracle E-Business Suite, R12 captures vital business data from global organizations in what can amount to several thousand transactions added to the database each day from departments throughout the organization. Though the need to capture this data is a critical business requirement, the explosive growth of transactional data and storing of multiple large reports greatly impacts the load on application performance.

Solix Enterprise Data Management Suite (Solix EDMS) will support Oracle E-Business Suite, R12. Having supported earlier Releases from Oracle E-Business Suite; Solix is continuing its commitment to Oracle E-Business Suite customers with support for the latest Oracle E-Business Suite, R12.
