ProStor Systems Adds Bridgehead Software to List of ISVs to Support New InfiniVault Archive Appliance

October 10, 2007; 03:52 AM

BOULDER, Colo. -- ProStor Systems, a leading developer of removable disk storage solutions, today announced that BridgeHead Software has added application support for ProStor’s InfiniVault™ archive appliance, the world’s first removable disk archive system for small and medium enterprises, providing customers with a complete data lifecycle management solution.

BridgeHead’s HT ISM is an Integrated Storage Management software platform for automated, policy-based data lifecycle management.  HT ISM provides the complete range of functionality to help InfiniVault customers meet their critical data retention, business continuance, disaster recovery, data availability and compliancy needs.  It includes HT FileStore, a file archiving system that uses a rules engine to automatically identify files across the network that should be copied or moved to archive media for long-term and compliant protection.  It also includes HT Backup, a powerful enterprise data backup system.

ProStor’s InfiniVault provides an unbeatable digital archive and compliance system that reduces storage costs by combining long-term data retention, regulatory compliance, automated data archiving and disaster recovery protection in a single, simple-to-deploy and easy-to-use appliance.  By leveraging RDX® removable disk technology, ProStor has created the world’s first archiving system that combines the performance and rapid retrieval of conventional hard disk drives with the unlimited capacity scalability and disaster recovery protection of removable media but with a system design that is far more reliable than tape and much lower cost than fixed-disk archive systems.

“There are two aspects to an effective Data Lifecycle Management strategy. One is automatically and transparently identifying and moving data to the ideal secondary storage location.  The other is ensuring that location is cost-effective, highly available, and secure over the lifespan of the data,” said Patrick Dowling, Senior Vice President of Marketing, BridgeHead Software.  “HT FileStore and InfiniVault are perfectly matched to address these needs.  ProStor customers will have an ideal long-term storage medium in InfiniVault and they will have BridgeHead’s HT FileStore to intelligently move the right data from across their network to that environment, through flexible automated policies.”

“BridgeHead’s HT FileStore and HT Backup supercharge the InfiniVault by taking full advantage of the tiered storage functionality to radically simplify the management, protection and migration of corporate data throughout its life cycle,” said Steve Georgis, President and CEO at ProStor.  “We’re excited by the added value that BridgeHead brings to InfiniVault customers.”

The InfiniVault product suite is available in three configurations designed to fit in various small and mid-sized enterprises.

• The InfiniVault Model 3 is designed for small businesses and remote offices.  The Model 3 archive appliance is an integrated tower system with up to 1.6 TB of online and nearline storage and infinite offline capacity.

• The InfiniVault Model 30 is designed for small and medium enterprises that need a flexible, cost-effective archive solution.  The Model 30 archive appliance is an integrated rack-mount system with up to 11 TB of online and nearline storage and infinite offline capacity.

• The InfiniVault Model 100 is designed for mid-sized enterprises that need a flexible archive solution that can store large amounts of archive data online.  The Model 100 archive appliance is an integrated rack-mount system with up to 39 TB of online and nearline storage and infinite offline capacity.

The entire InfiniVault archive appliance product suite is sold through a network of high-value resellers in North America, and will be generally available in the first quarter of 2008.   ProStor’s InfiniVault will be unveiled for the first time at the Storage Networking World Trade Show in Dallas from Oct. 15-18, 2007 in Booth C-7.
