MDaemon Email has been launched as the first of a number of
applications to get the hosted treatment from Zen Web Hosting, part of
leading UK Internet Service Provider (ISP) Zen Internet.
MDaemon,
from Texas based US developer, Alt-N Technologies, has long been a
popular alternative to Microsoft's Exchange server, offering a
comprehensive set of email tools whilst remaining easy to manage,
affordable and reliable. Traditionally, MDaemon customers would source
and maintain their own hardware platform to run MDaemon on but
centralised hosting removes even that requirement.
Zen claim
that by delivering the application via their fully managed Windows
servers, they can offer companies more manageable costs, a reduced risk
of interruption to service and more time to focus on their core
business.
James Steel, Product Manager at Zen Web Hosting, commented:
"The
benefits associated with this method of software delivery are becoming
increasingly difficult to ignore. MDaemon offers a genuinely viable
alternative to the market leader, particularly for SME's, and we're
excited we can be the first to offer the hosted version."
