MySpace Frees up Rack Space With RipCode Transcoding Solution

DALLAS, Texas – RipCode today announced that MySpaceTV has completed a successful trial of the RipCode V4 video transcoding solution. This trial sets MySpaceTV apart as the largest video internet site to address the growing volume of video transcodes using an appliance-based solution.

RipCode, which today announced the general availability of its V4 video transcoding appliance, designed its solution to process the highest volume of Internet-based video formats available in a single rack-unit chassis. Designed using ultra-fast DSPs (digital signal processors), this high concurrency processing appliance significantly accelerates the re-purposing of video files and enables internet video sites such as MySpaceTV to reduce the amount of hardware, storage and power currently required to keep up with the exploding growth in transcoding online video content.
