GNi Acquires Online Game Services Inc.

Acquired long-term partner Online Game Services, Inc. (OGSi) in a deal valued in excess of $3 million.

January 26, 2007; 12:16 AM
Global Netoptex, Inc. (GNi), a leading provider of customer-centric managed hosting services, today announced it has acquired long-term partner Online Game Services, Inc. (OGSi) in a deal valued in excess of $3 million. The move strengthens the ability of both companies to provide compelling pay-as-you-grow game hosting solutions to the online games industry.

OGSi has been developing its game service provider business model since its inception in June 2004. The company provides leading game companies such as Ping0 LLC and GoPets Ltd. with state-of-the-art, game-specific, dedicated hosting environments, and network services.

OGSi has enjoyed a productive, successful relationship with GNi for the past two years, said James Hursthouse, CEO of OGSi. Combining our two companies clearly strengthens our ability to serve the game industry with innovative hosting solutions. Well also be taking our pay-as-you-grow model into new areas such as interactive TV, video and music services, and social community websites.

The two companies had previously announced the deployment of more than 1000 IBM BladeServers in a game-specific hosting environment in San Francisco designed to support millions of users across multiple game titles. They expect to have over 4,000 additional servers operational for games clients in 10 datacenters worldwide by the end of 2007. Installed servers include AMD, Intel, and PowerPC based blades configured to customer specifications.

Acquiring OGSi is a natural progression, stated Derek Wise, GNis president and CEO. By combining their expertise in the games space with ours in managed services, we achieve increased economies of scale and efficiency to better serve our customers.

GNi offers multi-carrier/multi-homed internet transit, managed services and 24x7 remote hands support to maximize uptime, eliminate points of failure, and provide reliable service for mission-critical applications. The rapidly expanding managed services provider also guarantees 100% percent network availability through its service level agreements.

About OGSi

Online Game Services Inc. has been refining its Game Service Provider business model since its inception in June 2004. The company now works with a number of online game companies, providing them with fully managed dedicated game hosting services, comprising best-of-breed server and network infrastructure, and expert network design, deployment and operations. OGSi's on-demand "pay-as-you-grow" business model offsets much of the risks and costs associated with online game deployment and operations.
