SWsoft Improves PEM Automation Solution

HERNDON, Va. – SWsoft, a recognized leader in automation and virtualization software, today announced significant updates to its PEM data center automation solution in response to feedback from some of its largest hosting customers.  PEM 2.6 delivers 57 new features, including more Microsoft Hosted Exchange support, reseller branding and new language tools.

The latest release of PEM supports SWsoft Virtuozzo for both Linux and Windows, enabling customers to deploy Virtual Private Servers (VPSs) on either platform.  Improved branding support will enable resellers to provide a fully-branded service with branded URLs, DNS, and mail and database hostnames.

Key features in PEM 2.6 include:

• Virtuozzo Windows and Linux Support – Virtuozzo 3.0 for Linux can be used for PEM management servers and VPS application servers.  Virtuozzo 3.5 for Windows can be used to provide customers with Windows-based VPSs. 
  
• Microsoft Hosted Exchange Enhancements – include several mail services improvements, such as global address lists, multiple Microsoft Exchange store support, offline address book improvements and mailbox/folder size management improvements.
  
• Language Pack Update Mechanism – service providers can download and customize translation sources directly from the PEM user interface, allowing providers to create their own language packs or customize for a specific audience.
  
• Improved Branding Support – all brand-related options are located in a centralized place, making it easier to implement branding changes. 
  
• Windows Streaming Service Enhancements – include configuration of streaming protocols, bandwidth-based billing and accounting, and end-user publishing point configuration.
