Disk-based Backup Solution Developer Righteous Software to Announce Data Center Platform at ISPCONThe announcement will be made at the company’s booth during ISPCON, a biannual trade show focusing exclusively on Internet Services. November 7, 2006; 12:02 AM HOUSTON, Texas — Houston-based Righteous Software, a developer of disk-based backup solutions designed for the Web hosting industry, will announce today the upcoming release of a new version of its backup software, Righteous Backup for Data Centers. The announcement will be made at the company’s booth during ISPCON (www.ispcon.com), a biannual trade show focusing exclusively on Internet Services. The release of Righteous Backup for Data Centers builds upon the success of the company’s existing offerings designed to support individual Linux servers and hosting control panels. The software offers hosts the ability to run fully-automated, nearly continuous data backups. Additionally, Righteous Backup ensures Web servers remain completely operational and without significant performance reductions during backups. “The world’s largest data centers will very much appreciate the utmost priority we have placed on scalability with the release of this ground-breaking product,” said David Wartell, Righteous Software founder and CEO. “This product turns disk-based backups into a highly scalable architecture, allowing large data centers to easily and affordably add backup capacity on an as-needed basis using a cluster of servers—solely capable of providing backup and restore services for the entire facility.” Righteous Backup takes backups of servers at the sector level of hard disks, only copying disk sectors that changed following previous backups. This unique technology allows Righteous Backup to offer Bare-Metal Restore, a feature enabling the restoration of data to a server that can be performed solely and directly from a backup disk image. “With Bare-Metal Restore, there is no need to first format the drives and reinstall the operating system. This feature alone will dramatically reduce the crucial server-recovery time period that all sever administrators dread,” said Wartell. More information about Righteous Backup for Data Centers will be available when the company officially introduces the product today at booth #1108 at ISPCON, held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.
