Griffin Speeds Titan’s Customer Broadband ProvisionAugust 23, 2005; 04:07 AM Griffin Internet, the fast-growing business Internet provider, is to provide its new broadband provisioning system to Warwickshire-based communications provider Titan Technology. The new version of MOPS (Managed Online Provisioning System), launched only last month, enables white label customers to easily provision and manage their own broadband offerings. “Our route to market has always been through dealers and resellers – working with Griffin means we can pass on a quality product and service to our channel – and MOPS is an ideal solution in an era where everyone needs fast, effective broadband provisioning,” said Titan’s Managing Director, Rob Murdoch. Mr Murdoch added, “Titan has many years of experience in the telecommunications market. We have been working for the last 18 months on IP Centrex, the future of telephony, and have the system to deliver unrivalled services and features to its base. The new online provisioning for IP Centrex coupled with Griffin’s MOPS means that our customers can go live in record time.” Griffin’s latest version of MOPS offers one-touch operation, real-time links, five working day installation and simple monthly billing procedures. Its arrival on the market comes after an evolutionary development of more than three years, during which time the Derby-based company has grown to become a major provider of high quality business Internet. “Titan commits to its customers in just the same way that we do here at Griffin,” said Andrew Dickinson, Griffin’s sales and marketing director. “Our whole ethos with our Channel partners is to help them protect, retain and grow their own customer base for themselves. MOPS is at the very heart of our approach and we are confident that it beats anything available anywhere in the UK market today.” The development of MOPS follows a long term close working relationship between Griffin and BT. “MOPS interfaces with all aspects of BT’s internal provisioning to the extent that we can anticipate any possible problems and delays and generate automatic updates for our partners and their customers. To date, 99.4% of Griffin orders are installed and working within five working days of making that one-touch order,” added Mr Dickinson. The BT link means that MOPS users gain access to new BT products as soon as they become available. The high level of automation – there are no manual processes sitting behind the MOPS platform – gives real-time ordering processing and allows the Griffin partner to keep direct control of the process, with no delay in dealing with a third-party company and the inherent risk of exposing customer details to a potential competitor. Billing is also made simple with a monthly bill issued for each customer. MOPS will be demonstrated live in Coventry in September. Adrian Sunderland, Griffin’s CTO commented, “Engineered for business, the Griffin network is un-congested and therefore naturally voice-friendly. It is no coincidence therefore that we are seeing a lot of interest from Partners who want to offer their customers a converged solution. By the end of this year Partners, and their customers, will be able to decide themselves which applications they want to prioritise over our DSL services.” Established in 1993, Griffin provides Internet access to over 30,000 subscribers and provides wholesale services to more than 200 ISPs and telcos. In terms of infrastructure, Griffin has four carrier-class Data Centres, hundreds of megabits of transit capacity and active peering relationships with most ISPs at LINX, MaNAP and XchangePoint. Through its network of resellers and channel partners, Griffin supplies managed broadband to thousands of SMEs as well as some of the world’s largest companies.
