AT&T Wins Hosting Contract from UHS SystemsJuly 20, 2005; 10:08 AM July 20, 2005 - Atlanta – AT&T has won a contract to provide hosting services for UHS Systems, the American subsidiary of the Australian broadband company UHS Systems Pty Ltd. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. UHS Systems will house its network servers at AT&T’s area Internet Data Center (IDC). The IDC will act as the hub for all of UHS Systems’ North American alarm transport activity, and will enable the company to deploy its new, Internet Protocol (IP)- based security alarm transport service. AT&T operates 26 IDCs around the world. UHS Systems’ IP-based service can operate on any type of broadband connection and includes a digital wireless backup system. Data from UHS Systems’ IP-based and wireless systems are processed at the IDC, and then forwarded to a participating security alarm monitoring company’s call center. In addition, AT&T is able to process video data from UHS Systems’ premises equipment at its IDC, enabling UHS Systems to offer video monitoring and premise security surveillance to the security alarm industry. “AT&T was the best choice for our hosting services. The company is among the most trusted names in telecommunications and provides the world-class security, reliability and redundancy we needed for our IP-based security alarm transport services,” said Jack McCurdy, General Manager of US operations for UHS Systems. “Offering our premise IP security alarm transport services through AT&T’s renowned IDC just made sense. With AT&T as our networking services provider, security alarm services are just the beginning of what UHS will be able to offer its customers.” About AT&T About UHS Systems In July of 2004, UHS expanded its presence into the United States, establishing its North American headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
