AT&T Wins $15 Million Networking Contract from Carnival Cruise LinesJuly 11, 2005; 06:35 AM July 11, 2005 - Miami – AT&T announced today it has won a $15 million networking contract from Carnival Cruise Lines, the most popular cruise line in the world. The three-year contract for an extensive portfolio of data and voice services renews and expands a long-standing relationship between the companies. “Our call centers and Web site have to stay up and running non-stop,” said Ken Eberhardt, Director of IT and Administrative Services at Carnival. “We need to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With the reliability of AT&T, we know we’ll be up and running through hurricanes, power failures or floods.” Carnival’s call centers are located in Miami; Miramar, Fla. and Colorado Springs, Colo. Its shipyards – which also require around-the-clock reliability – are in Italy and the United Kingdom. Carnival can monitor the performance of its network and applications through the secure AT&T customer portal, AT&T BusinessDirectâ, which provides operational efficiencies including around-the-clock online access to real-time reports on network performance and direct connection to trouble management systems.
