Equinix Expands Data Center and Network Exchange Solutions for Ticketmaster at Chicago IBX Facility

Leading Web Destination to Expand Hosting Operations at Network-Rich Equinix Hub

February 23, 2005; 06:39 AM

Foster City, CA - February 23, 2005 - Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the leading provider of network-neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, today announced an expanded agreement with Ticketmaster, whereby the ticketing company will utilize Equinix's Chicago Internet Business ExchangeT (IBX®) center to host additional operations.  The expansion will enable Ticketmaster to operate within a centralized hub near a critical mass of network service providers and other companies operating within the IBX.

Operating within Equinix's network-rich data centers gives Ticketmaster direct access to an aggregation of carriers, ISPs, DSL providers and cable operators to cost-effectively execute strategic connectivity agreements within a highly secure and reliable environment.  This interconnectivity with networks and other strategic service providers within the same physical location offers a compelling alternative to linking to multiple locations and across great distances.  The result is a more streamlined path between content and end-users that improves performance and reduces the networking costs of a point-to-multipoint network connectivity infrastructure.  It also provides Ticketmaster with a strong breadth of choices for backup networks in the event of a service interruption to a primary provider.

In addition to the benefits of interconnecting, Equinix IBX centers also offer a high-performance physical infrastructure that includes industry-leading security, power and environmental features.  Security elements include interlocking "mantrap" doors, multiple layers of biometric hand-geometry scanners controlling access, as well as 24-hour security officers and hundreds of surveillance cameras.  The power operations of each center include a high-performance backup system that ensures uninterrupted power even in the event of utility power disruption.  Cooling and
environmental control features enable deployment of the most demanding IT systems, including high power density equipment, such as blade servers.

"Ticketmaster's mission is to provide the best systems, services, and tools for the optimal distribution of tickets for our clients," said Alan Waldman, VP Operations, Ticketmaster.  "After a thorough review of existing data center and network exchange solutions, along with our experience over the past year at Equinix, we have found that Equinix centers help support our objectives by offering a highly reliable environment for online operations."

"Ticketmaster joins a large number of Equinix customers that have expanded their initial deployments at Equinix to additional IBX centers," said Peter Van Camp, CEO of Equinix.  "This continued customer expansion is a strong validation of the strength of the Equinix business model and our ongoing commitment to providing the highest levels of customer service for IBX participants."
