The Planet Brings Enterprise-Level Load Balancing to Small Business MarketJanuary 11, 2005; 09:06 AM Dallas, TX - January 11, 2005 - (HostReview) - The Planet recently announced it now offers affordable, enterprise-level load balancing to the entirety of its customer base through a partnership with Zeus Technology. The Zeus load-balancing solution is designed to improve the performance, reliability and scalability of customer networks through a combination of traffic management protocols, service level monitoring, SSL decryption and re-encryption, bandwidth management and other features. "We're thrilled to bring advanced load balancing to all of our customers, small business and otherwise," said Sam Fleitman, Vice President of Managed Services at The Planet. He stated that package prices begin at just $49 per month for load balancing of three services and two nodes. Additional nodes and services can be added for a nominal fee. "This very affordable solution in turn allows our customers to provide highly available services at market-leading prices." The Planet selected the Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager (ZXTM) load balancing solution, Mr. Fleitman added, because the product offers a variety of features that could be extended directly to The Planet's customers through its proprietary ORBIT™ portal. "With user-level access to load balancing functions through ORBIT, customers can load balance any server in our datacenter and manage settings in real-time," Mr. Fleitman said. "This level of control is truly unprecedented at this price point." Steve Palmer, Vice President of Marketing at Zeus Technology, commented, "Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager is the next generation in application traffic management and load balancing. With ZXTM, The Planet can offer its customers a single solution that combines traffic management with advanced security and optimization capabilities." ABOUT ZEUS TECHNOLOGY ABOUT THE PLANET
