Verio and ATS Join Forces to Offer Government-Wide Hosting and Managed ServicesOctober 22, 2004; 12:00 AM Englewood, Colo., Oct. 22, 2004 - (HostReview) - Verio, a subsidiary of NTT Communications and a leading global IP solutions provider, announced today that a full range of its technology solutions, to include hosting and managed services, are now available to the federal government through Advanced Technology Systems, Inc.'s (ATS) General Services Administration (GSA) Information Technology (IT) services schedule. "ATS is committed to helping its government customers achieve optimum networking and technical performance," Pete Spewak, senior vice president of business development at ATS said. "By teaming with Verio, we are able to provide a medley of key technology offerings on our GSA schedule that address the government's need for highly efficient managed network solutions at a significant cost savings." Together, Verio and ATS will provide government customers with several options for purchasing reliable, bundled services. The foundation of this service delivery is the high-performance and security of the NTT/VERIO premier data center facility and its IP network. At this time, there are nine service packages available giving government agencies the flexibility to choose the appropriate hosting and managed solutions, IT services, and hardware solutions to meet their Internet needs. An entry-level solution package, designed for a smaller agency operating a Web site with static content, offers a single server bundle with managed services such as security, monitoring and storage. A higher-end solution package, designed to support larger agencies running dynamic-content Web sites with heavy graphics and streaming media, offers a multi-server environment coupled with advanced managed services, load balancing for Web servers and database clustering software. Other services offered under the contract include managed security, network design, network management, network support, systems support, equipment maintenance, facilities planning, product support, system management, and facilities operations. Additionally, ATS and Verio can provide government customers with immediate access to Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) Gateway Services-the next generation communication protocol providing enhanced performance, manageability, scalability and data protection. "As the government continues to upgrade and expand its systems, additional services are needed to manage newly integrated applications," said James Treuting, president of global sales at Verio. "Through the ATS partnership, Verio provides flexible service options that are tailored to meet each agency's systems requirement. Using a flexible product purchasing system, government can maintain a cost effective and efficient technology procurement process." "At ATS, we focus on using IT as a business enabler, because at the end of the day, our customers are looking for business results and a better way to manage their technology ownership costs," added Spewak. "ATS is working with Verio because they are one of the only providers that can offer the quality of complete hosting and IP solutions that our government customers demand." About ATS With annual revenues exceeding $100 million, ATS ranks in the top 10 percent of IT companies in the Washington Metropolitan area. For more information about ATS, visit www.atsva.com.
