September 30, 2004 - (HostReview.com) - Digital River, Inc. (www.digitalriver.com ) announced yesterday that it launched a new online store as the first pre-approved seller of downloadable software on eBay.

"We believe the launch of our downloadable software store on eBay serves as an important extension of our online sales network," said Joel Ronning, Digital River's CEO.

Located at http://stores.ebay.com/downloadstore, Digital River's download software store is part of eBay's pilot program to test the opportunity of offering downloadable software on eBay's site. The launch marked the introduction of the purchase category to eBay's community of consumers.

To cater to the eBay community, Digital River designed and launched the software store, which features a catalog of downloadable software titles, including utilities, business applications, productivity tools, and digital imaging and security software.

Digital River not only hosts the site, but also handles payment processing, fraud prevention, customer service, reporting and digital downloads. Because Digital River's e-commerce system is integrated into eBay's marketplace, Digital River can automate the online marketing and sales process for its publishing clients and minimize operational complexities.

Digital River, Inc., a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing, builds and manages online businesses for more than 40,000 software publishers, manufacturers, distributors and online retailers.
