Shared hosting provider Easy CGI offers upgrade to .NET 3.5

Pearl River, NY -- Easy CGI, a leading provider of Windows hosting, is launching .NET 3.5 hosting for all customers of its shared hosting plans. The seamless upgrade enables current customers to take advantage of all the new features this updated version of .NET Framework offers. As with all upgrades, Easy CGI carried out extensive performance, compatibility and reliability testing, before launching .Net Framework 3.5.

The 3.5 release builds incrementally on new features previously added in .NET 2.0 and 3.0, so current sites built using those earlier versions should enjoy a seamless migration to .NET 3.5. Expansions on previous versions with ASP.NET AJAX, the ability to use Language Integrated Query (LINQ), and a variety of other new tools for developers, make it simpler and faster to build applications using Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation and Windows Workflow Foundation.

The newly released Visual Studio 2008, an integrated development environment, can also target .NET Framework 3.5 or previous versions.

Some of the new features and tools in .NET Framework 3.5 include:

• new product and item templates

• Auto-Host for self-hosted WCF services

• Enhanced duplex/async messaging

• Ability to author services as a workflow

• Better support for the growing variety of web protocols, formats and services

• Support for all the new WS- services, such as WS-ReliableMessaging,
  WS-AtomicTransaction, and WS-Trust/WS-SecurityPolicy
