Web hosting company VPSLink has added Fedora Core 6, Debian Etch, and Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy) Linux to its VPS product line. VPSLink is designed specifically for Linux power users, providing cutting edge technology at ultra-competitive prices. Fedora Core 6 updates include Install-time access to third-party package repositories and extensive performance improvements.

Debian Etch again comes with a lot more software than its predecessor sarge; the distribution includes over 9000 new packages. Most of the software in the distribution has been updated: almost 6500 software packages (this is 73% of all packages in sarge). aptitude is the preferred program for package management from console. It has proven to be better at dependency resolution than apt-get aptitude supports most command line operations of apt-get.

With the Ubuntu 6.10 release comes a whole host of excellent new features. Improvements have been made all around, such as faster system boot up times, faster GNOME start up times, a shiny new optimized kernel, GNOME 2.16, and much, much more.

VPSLink (www.vpslink.com) provides budget Virtual Private Server (VPS) web hosting solutions from their datacenter in Seattle, WA. VPS technologies allow users to be isolated inside of their own virtual environment, providing all of the administrative access previously only available on a traditional dedicated server. VPSLink is focused on cutting edge open source technologies. VPSLink is a wholly owned subsidiary of Spry Hosting.
