Bonphire's Web-Based Email Version 4.8 is an email client that allows
access to email messages from any Internet connection and includes
features such as spam filtering, virus protection, and remote message
retrieval. Web-Based Email also includes a light version of the email
client that can be used with low-bandwidth connections, such as dialup.
Short
Message Service (SMS) integration, also called text messaging service
is a new feature which now lets subscribers to Bonphire’s Web-based
Email instantly send text messages, as well as standard email. With the
new texting feature in Bonphire’s Webmail, customers can give their
thumbs a rest, not to mention save on all of the text messaging charges
on your cell phone. All of this from your desktop!
Here’s how it
works: Bonphire customers can access their Web-based email accounts as
they always have, but now a drop-down menu gives an option to select
email only, text message only or both. A simple cell phone field in
the user’s address book drives the feature. In addition, Bonphire
includes a function that allows users to keep within the 160 character
limit required by cell phone carriers for text messages.
