Web hosting blog Daw (http://www.dawhb.com) has published and article
that gives an advice to consumers how to make a difference between
"fake" and "true" reviews about hosting providers.
The blog's author says that a positive review posted in a popular
online forums is not only a customer's appreciation to the service but
a powerful marketing tool. "We can see tough competition on the hosting
market. Ten thousands of web hosts fight for new customers and some of
them use forum reviews as a pat of their marketing strategy" says the
blooger.
He explains that he decided to publish the article called "Web Hosting
Reviews, How To Make A Difference!" because a fake reviews about
hosting providers can be seen every day in popular hosting forums.
"Those posts mislead the consumers who place confidence in web hosting
companies and a lot of them are being ripped off", says the blog owner
Dimitar Avramov.
The blogger says it should be easy to follow a fake review but
sometimes it is hard to make the difference which one is false and
which's not. The articles suggests users to check a forum member's
posting history as well as to find more information about the web host
by searching for any articles, news or reviews about it in the search
engines.
According to DawHB.com consumers is better to ignore reviews and ads
that contain superlatives. "Having a superlative in provider's
presentation means that those who manage the business don't feel
confident about what they do or don't have a knowledge how to explain
or promote their business", says the author.
The blog posts an example of fraudulent review about a web host.
