Virtual Private Server Launches VPS Web Hosting

WebFusion, part of PIPEX Communications (www.pipex.com), has launched Virtual Private Server (VPS) – an affordable hosting solution that lets users customise their server settings and enjoy performance levels previously only available on dedicated servers.

WebFusion is offering a free 30 day trial to web-masters and companies to see Virtual Private Server in action. The product is priced from £25.99 per month for Linux and £35.99 for Windows, with two months’ hosting free for those that pay a year in advance.

With VPS, users still share systems resources, such as the CPU and memory, but unlike shared hosting, the file system is fully partitioned so they are not affected by other activities on the server.

This means that up-time is more consistent, while root access to the server provides webmasters with the flexibility to add and change modules and install their own software.
