The National Contract Management Association (www.ncmahq.org), the preeminent source of professional development for the practice of contract management, today announced the availability of its online Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) certification preparation course, covering the Federal Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK).

Jointly developed with Reston, VA-based VCampus Corporation (NASDAQ: VCMP), a provider of comprehensive e-Learning publishing and hosting services to corporations, government agencies, associations and credentialing organizations, the course prepares candidates for the Federal Module of the NCMA Certification Program exam and earns Continuing Professional Education credits (CPEs)  toward satisfying recertification requirements.

Data from a 1999 report from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management suggests that the market potential for the CFCM and NCMA's other certifications approaches 200,000 potential registrations with approximately 87,000 people in federal service jobs directly related to contracting and procurement and similar estimates for their private sector counterparts.

The Federal Module Certification Preparation Course is available for $350 to NCMA members and $450 to non-members, with corporate discounts available.  Satisfactory completion of the course earns 18 CPEs toward recertification, which is required once every five years.

With 18,000 members worldwide, NCMA's professional certification and training programs are designed to elevate professional standards, enhance performance and distinguish those who demonstrate knowledge essential to the successful practice of contract management.

Issues such as OMB Circular A-76, Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC SAB101 revenue recognition, homeland security and the war on terrorism are making contract management successes and challenges front page news.  In the government, contract professionals bear extraordinary responsibility for supporting these critical issues domestically and around the world.

"Never before have sound contract management processes been more vital to the success of an organization especially given that the U.S. government buys goods and services from more than 450,000 suppliers," said Nat Kannan, Chairman and CEO of VCampus Corporation.
