AlertSite, a provider of web performance measurement and systems monitoring products, announced today the immediate availability of its Security Vulnerability Scan.

The AlertSite Security Vulnerability Scan inspects security breaches from outside the firewall, just like hackers do, to ensure websites and servers are safe from outside threats such as Blaster, Slammer, Code Red, NIMDA worms and more.

"Enterprises today are realizing that Internet security is as important, if not more important, than application features," said Ken Gross, President and CEO of AlertSite.

Most worms and other cyber-attacks are enabled by a small number of common operating systems and services. The AlertSite Security Vulnerability Scan conducts daily scans of all Internet services, ports, routers, firewalls and Internet-connected devices to ensure websites and servers pass the SANS Top 20 Internet Security Vulnerabilities test, as defined by SANS, FBI and FedCIRC.

"As threats such as worms become more evasive, vulnerability scanning is an important tool to see how your network can stand up to a potential attack," said Scott Crawford, senior analyst at Enterprise Management Associates.

"AlertSite's monitoring service has served us very well to date," said Dave Perelstein, vice president of IS at Baseball Express, Inc. "It has been key to keeping our site up and running so that we are maximizing our TCO and ROI."

The AlertSite Security Vulnerability Scan is run and managed on the company's optimized Linux servers to bring an easy-to-use, low-cost and strong security scanning service to customers.

AlertSite is a leading provider of web performance measurement, systems monitoring and security vulnerability scanning products and services that ensure a customer's critical web-based services are always available and run at peak performance.
