Web Hosting Company PowWeb Donates $ 6,000 to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles

Today CHLA received a check for more than $6,056 from PowWeb. The money will go to help CHLA continue its mission of advancing the health and well-being of children and adolescents locally and worldwide.

Their dedication to treating the most seriously ill and injured children in Los Angeles in an atmosphere of love, compassion and respect for people has inspired PowWeb to donate half of its proceeds from new customers signing up with us during the final three weeks of 2004," said CEO Andrew H. Te, PowWeb, Inc (www.PowWeb.com), a Los Angeles-based global hosting company serving small and medium businesses.

"We felt it was critical to open our hearts during this past holiday season. In leading by example, we hope this encourages the businesses we host and other Internet companies to find ways to give back to the community," said Te.

During the relaunch of its website last month (December 2004), PowWeb offered six free months of web hosting for anyone who signed up for one year of web hosting services and 14 free months for those signing up for two years of their "Zero Downtime Hosting" platform at a cost of $7.77 per month.

CHLA admits more than 10,800 children a year to the hospital, with and almost 50-percent of those children admitted are under four years old.

Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is the only hospital in Greater Los Angeles affiliated with the Children's Miracle Network, an international non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for pediatric hospitals throughout North America.
