Honeywell And IBM Team Up For Key Technologies

Under the terms of the agreement, Honeywell's (www.honeywell.com) defense electronics business will gain access to IBM's engineering expertise, technologies, research and development, and manufacturing processes and facilities, in order to accelerate its design and production of new network-centric battlefield components and systems.  In return, it provides IBM with military and aerospace resources and expertise, and access to avionics and vetronics customers.

"Working with IBM will allow us to accelerate the development of new defense and space technologies," said Ed Wheeler, Vice President and General Manager, Honeywell's Defense and Space Electronic Systems.

Pat Toole, General Manager, IBM Engineering and Technology Services, said, "Honeywell has been involved in almost every type of vehicle that flies or orbits the earth, and so teaming with the company will allow IBM to expand its services, system and software presence in commercial and military aerospace.
