Digital Impact Teams with VERITAS to Automate Server Provisioning

Rapid deployment of server resources key to successful email marketing campaigns

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - July 29, 2004 - VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS) today announced that Digital Impact, a leading provider of integrated digital marketing solutions for Global 2000 enterprises, has selected VERITAS OpForce™ software to automate server management and provisioning. Silicon Valley-based Digital Impact depends on its sophisticated IT infrastructure, comprised of hundreds of servers, to support email campaigns for clients such as Marriott, Dell and Hewlett-Packard. Digital Impact chose VERITAS OpForce software to help them rapidly allocate and deploy server resources required to deliver email marketing campaigns on behalf of their clients.

Using VERITAS OpForce software, Digital Impact will have the capability to easily identify under-utilized servers and deploy them into environments where they are needed to support specific customer marketing campaigns. VERITAS OpForce software will help the company create a flexible pool of server assets that can easily support extreme fluctuations in email activity using Digital Impact's existing hardware and software infrastructure. This will allow Digital Impact to support clients more effectively utilizing fewer resources—helping to drive down hardware and labor costs while maintaining the company's high levels of customer satisfaction.
